BP (British Petroleum), one of the world’s top seven oil and gas “supermajors”, has been present in Azerbaijan for almost three decades. BP Azerbaijan aspires to be a valued, trusted and long-term partner in the development of Azerbaijan’s hydrocarbon resources. It is committed to conducting a safe and sustainable business that benefits all its stakeholders and society. By the end of 2020, the number of BP’s Azerbaijani national employees was 2,442 people, including fixed-term employees.
BP Azerbaijan grew significantly in 2005. They faced the challenge of expanding office space in the Landmark Building in Baku within a tight timeframe and without any disruption to daily operations. The expansion required a corresponding expansion of IT infrastructure before BP personnel move-in. The new equipment had to be installed and integrated into the expanded office in a very short time.
BP engaged ED to expand the company's voice and cabling infrastructure for the extended offices. Based on the project requirements, needs and expectations of the project stakeholders, ED has developed the most suitable project design. ED has delivered, installed, and configured a Siemens HI Path PABX system and integrated it into the existing BP Azerbaijan voice infrastructure. We also supplied and installed all the necessary passive telecommunications equipment and cabling to enable user connectivity to the data and voice services. Our team of highly experienced project managers, engineers and technicians has worked 24/7 to deliver the required scope of work in the offices before users move in. We have delivered the project on time, within budget and as per BP global IT standards.
The project delivered by ED has enabled our client to enhance business value by achieving the following goals:
