BP is one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies. BP Azerbaijan was established in 1992 in Baku. Two years later, BP and a consortium of international oil companies signed a major contract with the Azerbaijani government. Today Azerbaijan is one of BP’s key global centres for production and transportation of oil and gas.
BP’s management set the goal to provide its oil platforms with safe and reliable Internet access. The project’s main challenge was to ensure uninterrupted operation of the wireless network in confined spaces made of complex steel structures that block the radio waves..
ED conducted a spectral analysis of the radio signals and developed a detailed design for locations of the access points on the oil platforms. The ED project team also prepared a detailed project plan for implementation of the solution on all the platforms in accordance with the health and safety regulations. The equipment was installed, tested and put into operation
